Lindsay Gurney, PT, CF-L1 Trainer - Founder and Owner

Lindsay received her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 2004.  She has been practicing outpatient orthopedic physical therapy in Northern Colorado since that time.  Throughout her career she has focused on manual therapy and a fitness forward approach to functional rehab. In addition, she is certified in Functional Dry Needling and is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer.

Outside of work you can find Lindsay spending time with her family and 2 dogs.  She is very passionate about being active, whether that’s doing CrossFit, hiking, running, or walking the pups.  She will tell you that her life changed dramatically for the better when she ran her first half marathon in 2009 and then started CrossFit a month later.

Meaning Behind the Name

The Dara Celtic Knot is a symbol of strength in the Celtic culture.  Dara is derived from the Irish word “doire” which means “oak tree”. Some of the meanings of this symbol are strength, power, endurance, wisdom, connection, and community.

The oak, in all of its symbolic glory, is invoked in times when we must gather our internal fortitude for the purpose of remaining strong in times of challenge.  The Dara knot, as it is associated with the oak, reminds us that beneath our surface (beneath the soil) we have vastly divine inner resources (root system) that lend us wisdom and stability regardless of the circumstances we see around us.
